Oh, we are feeling it now—Spring has finally sprung. Time to finally say goodbye to that winter seasonal depression and hello to the sun hitting our faces and the world feeling just a tad bit more colorful.
Is it just us, or does the commencement of Spring bring on the sudden urge to completely revamp your life? It’s the second quarter of the year and arguably the best. You’re switching your wardrobe out for the warmer days, cleaning your winter gloom room, finally popping the windows open for fresh air, and boldly declaring this year’s summer plans are gonna be your best summer plans yet.
Yeah… Spring just gives revamp. It gives GLOW UP!
Speaking of glow ups… We feel like this is the season of the glow up! All the podcast and TikTok baddies have been talking about rebranding and glowing up their life. Spring is literally the most perfect time to start your glow up. The spring cleaning is in full effect, and you're 75% of the way to the summer body you promised yourself in winter. So why not sit down, plan your rebrand, and go all out on yourself? It’s your life, you get to glow up however you want, whenever you want! Why not make Spring 2025 the moment you decided to take it up a notch?
We sat down with Zulley Lagua, a tax accountant and rising CPA, to discuss how we can glow up our finances to position our rebrand. We suggest you grab a pen and paper, because the gems Zulley dropped?! Yeah! They’re that good!
If you have been feeling the pressure to focus on your finances and feel unsure how to save money while also not missing out on the joys of life, Zulley stresses this one important thing.
“Don’t restrict yourself.”
Zulley says there are two places in your life specifically that you shouldn’t restrict but invest in yourself.
1. Physically: If you’re working out at the gym, getting your hair or nails done, or even buying an outfit makes you feel good, then it’s worth the spend. “If you look good, you feel good.”
2. Education: Zulley says education is a great reason to invest in yourself. Need a new skill or certification to level up your future? Invest in the ebook, the class, or the course. So that cooking class that will get you to stop eating ramen for dinner? Book it!
This is just the surface. Want more from Zulley? You can read more from our sit down next Monday, right here on Substack!
Have you heard of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act?! Yeah, we hadn’t either until the Queen Kyyah Abdul filled us in… and with the current state of the job market (HOT 💩 DUMPSTER FIRE TRASH), this is just the resource all the babes looking to pivot and transition in their careers or move on from their dusty job need!
Hey love bug!
Recently, I heard about this little thing called a Saturn Return. Do you know her? Oh yeah, she’s nothing but an astrological moment set out to literally fold, mold, and break you during your late 20s. From the ages of 27-30, the stars are literally NOT aligning for us! (My take may be a little more dramatic.) According to Big Googleana, your Saturn return marks “a period of deep self-reflection and a focus on building a more stable and secure life.” And that's a soft, non-scary way of putting it, when in reality, it’s forcing you to take a deep look at your life and telling you all the ways you need to put those boots on the ground and get your stuff together. This is the quarter-life crisis that people talk about! Since it seems I have two more years in Saturn's penitentiary, I’m romanticizing my sentence. Here’s how:
In the Kitchen: I finally decided to dig into my saved folders on IG and TikTok and get to testing some recipes, and oh my gosh, have I unlocked my inner chef! Like, I actually just may be on someone’s cooking competition show next year!
My Latest Binge: Why didn’t y’all tell me The Pitt was THEEE BEST medical drama ever made?! And trust me, as a DAY ONE Grey’s Anatomy stan… it doesn’t even hurt to claim that with my whole chest. I binged this show in just two days, and it left me wanting more. Like, I’m actually not well, even thinking about it now.
Bite Me: Ever seen a movie soooo… delicious? Well, meet Sinners! This Ryan Coogler vampire thriller is being called the best movie of the year, and I know we are only a quarter of the way through, but I just don’t see how anyone can beat it! From the visuals to the score to the acting to the historical references to the Yonce-like jump cuts and scares… it was just so. damn. good!
Til the next one,

Hey, brilliant, tired, trying-your-best girlie,
I’m deep in my “do what you can and call it a win” era, and honestly? That’s more than enough. This week’s faves are brought to you by me trying to get my life together (again), drinking water and minding my business… kind of.
Chia Pudding (but fancy): I’ve been meal prepping to save a buck—financial flow-up or whatever—and chia pudding has been the star of the show. I make mine with coconut milk and sometimes add a little oat milk, condensed milk when I’m feeling extra. It’s giving creamy, it’s giving grown, it’s giving “I don’t eat breakfast over the sink anymore.”
Electrolit – Coconut Flavor: Why am I always thirsty? I drink water, but apparently my body wants more. Enter Electrolit. Coconut flavor only, I’m not negotiating. It makes me feel like I’m in my wellness era without actually doing the most. I don’t know, I crave hydration now? This is who I am.
Vitamin E Oil: I started using Vitamin E oil as my face moisturizer, and wow. Glowing. Dewy. Like I drink water and mind my business (even when I don’t). I’ve already put a few friends on, and now we’re out here looking like we know what we’re doing. Fake it ’til you glow it.
Bisous,
Nathalie
As we glow up our lives this spring, let’s not forget about the people who help us shine. Building and nourishing relationships as an adult can be tricky—between work, responsibilities, and life’s unexpected twists, it’s easy to let meaningful connections fall to the side. But here’s the thing: strong relationships are just as important as your glow-up goals.
It’s all about intention. Make time to check in with friends, create space for new connections, and don’t be afraid to put in the effort to nurture what matters. Whether it’s bonding over brunch, a spontaneous text, attending that mixer in your city, or having a real heart-to-heart conversation, invest in the people who lift you up.
Relationships require time and care, but they’re worth it. After all, life’s glow up is always better when shared.
